One-Of-A-Kind Candles

Welcome to Bercot Provisions, where past and present meet through a unique candle-making experience. I’m Shasta Bercot, and my passion for history, vintage design, and pure, clean ingredients inspired me to create a candle company that honors tradition while offering something new. I’ve always admired the charm and elegance of the Victorian and Edwardian eras, as well as the timeless appeal of English cottage décor and vintage advertising. These influences are reflected in every aspect of my candles, from the fragrances to the packaging. I have to say creating these products are so much fun and I can't wait for you to try!

Unique Candles

My journey began with a desire to create clean-burning candles that are safe for your home, free from toxins, and made with transparency. This is why I chose to work with beeswax and coconut wax, two of the purest waxes available. Beeswax, made by the incredible honeybee, naturally purifies the air by releasing negative ions, while coconut wax is known for its incredible scent throw. Together, they form the perfect combination—clean, sustainable, and luxurious. While beeswax is beautiful, it’s also one of the most expensive waxes and needs a complement to hold scent, which is why pairing it with coconut wax was essential.

The heart of Bercot Provisions lies in the details. Every candle is poured into a mason jar, a nod to timeless design and utility. These jars can be reused after the candle is finished, offering endless possibilities, whether you use them for storage, decor, or even a keepsake holder. The lids were chosen with care, designed to resemble old zinc canning lids with a modern twist, blending the past with the present in a way that feels fresh yet familiar.

Creating the labels was one of my favorite parts of the process(and an updated look coming soon). Inspired by vintage advertising, I wanted the packaging to tell a story before you even light the candle. Each label is carefully crafted to reflect the scent and evoke a sense of nostalgia, giving you a glimpse of what to expect before you even take off the lid. The scent itself is vital too—both the cold throw (the scent when unlit) and the hot throw (the scent when burning). I spent countless hours perfecting each fragrance to ensure they were just right, offering a unique blend of scents you won’t find anywhere else.

Another defining feature of my candles is the use of wooden wicks. There’s something incredibly comforting about the sound of wood crackling as it burns, reminding us of the simple pleasures of gathering around a fire. Wooden wicks are also self-trimming, making them easier to maintain than traditional cotton wicks, and they provide a cleaner, longer-lasting burn.
